Punalu‘u Black Sand Beach 

Near Volcano, this striking black sand beach is a must-visit. Often, you can spot sea turtles resting on the shore. The ocean views against the black sand are stunning.

Take a dip in this volcanically heated pond located within a subdivision. You’ll need to park outside and walk in.

Kapoho Tide Pools 

A fascinating area for snorkeling with various tide pools to explore. It’s one of the few good snorkeling spots on the island’s east side.

Puna Coastline Drive 

Drive along Kapoho Beach Road to experience the incredibly scenic route through lush jungle landscapes.

Lava Tree State Park
